Set in small-town Oregon, the latest in the witty, charming Witch Way Librarian series from acclaimed author Angela M. Sanders features a spellbinding librarian, a clever cat familiar, an unfortunately non-magical sister —and of course, murder. The perfect read for fans of Bailey Cates, Adele Abbott, Juliet Blackwell, and all mystery lovers with a taste for the witchy.

Big things are happening in small-town Wilfred, Oregon! The retreat center is open for its first workshop, the local café is done remodeling, and librarian and witch-in-training Josie Way is hosting her sister—and a few suspicions about the new killer on the loose . . .

Josie is eager to show off Wilfred’s delights to her visiting sister, Jean—even though Josie must conceal her magic from her. In any case, Jean is excited to attend Cookie Masterson’s trademark “Ready-Set-Go!” workshop on becoming a life coach. Then there’s the grand reopening of Darla’s Café, where the doors are thrown open to reveal . . . a dead man, stabbed in the back. That was definitely not on the revamped menu…

Even more worrisome, the sheriff receives a report of a fresh corpse at the retreat center. Maybe murder isn’t so uncommon in Wilfred anymore, but two unfamiliar bodies within an hour certainly is! Josie’s willing to let law enforcement take the lead—after all, she’s gotten into some trouble from the hints the library’s spellbound books keep feeding her about the patrons. But when her sister receives the killer’s chilling calling card, she’ll use everything within her otherworldly powers to divine just who in town has homicide as his new slogan . . .

Angela M. Sanders worked for more than a decade as a congressional investigator before turning author. Her lack of success finding bathtub reading that was indulgent yet smart led her to write the Joanna Hayworth Vintage Clothing mysteries and The Booster Club capers, which center around a retirement home for petty criminals. Under the pen name Clover Tate, she also wrote three kite shop cozy mysteries for Berkley Prime Crime. The Witch Way Librarian series of cozy mysteries for Kensington debuts with Bait and Witch on December 29, 2020.

When she isn’t at her laptop, Angela is rummaging in thrift shops, lounging with a vintage detective novel, or pontificating about how to make the perfect martini.

Witch Upon a Star...
Josie is one of those characters that readers either love or hate. This time around, they will definitely love her! After all, what’s not to love about a murder mystery that involves spellbound books at the library, a sister who comes to visit and attend a life coach workshop, and not one but two murders within a few hours? The assembled cast of characters brings together fans who love the regular players right alongside new and exciting characters that keep them guessing. The library’s books are spellbound and give Josie hints about the nature of the murders; they also do their best to protect her from harm. The workshop aspect is not new to the cozy genre, but in this case, it gives readers a way to look inside the suspects' minds without giving away the ending. The murderer is elusive, while the evidence can be challenging to figure out. But in the end, Josie finds the killer and manages not to get herself killed in the process.I got a kick out of Josie’s sister. I understand her need to find her way in the world or within her family while another sibling gets all the attention. The life coaching workshop seems to be custom-made for Jean, who doesn’t know about Josie’s magic and the spellbound books that help her solve crimes. The story unfolds in a way that will make readers happy. The plot is easy to understand without too much detail that would bog down the pace. The author knows what she is doing, and Witch Upon a Star proves that she has a bit of magic of her own.

Another charming witch cozy with romance, witch craft, sisters, and talking books. Josie gets the witch charm of talking to books and her little sister gets taken in by a life coach seminar. Sam and his son Nicky live next door to the town library and Josie keeps a loving eye on them.

I found this series on Kindle Unlimited. It doesn’t have the rest of the series pass 3. However that doesn’t matter because I want to own physical copies and they are so hard to come by.

Twists and turns, turns and twists! This murder mystery was a doozy… so good and again had an inkling but the author kept me on my toes til the end revealing the murderer. I love this series and this book didn’t disappoint. Went to leave my review on Amazon and saw book 5 to release in February…pre-order placed 🙌🏼

A cozy mystery set in the background of the beautiful Pacific Northwest with the premise of books and magic, it truly is as delightful as it sounds. Josie is a librarian with some "magical" abilities that unfold, much like the mystery itself as the novel progresses. Every question and suspicion in my head, the author is one step ahead. I loved the feeling of being kept on my toes and second guessing my guessing, lol. The beginning of a little slow to start but CHAPTER 13! That changed everything for me. The true GOLD is Josie's magic and what it allows her to do. Can't wait for another book in the series!

Well what’s it going to be. Does Sam love her enough to accept her as a witch? I hope so.

Another mystery b that I couldn't solve. The characters are so memorable and you can imagine them as a real community of folks. Looking forward to the next adventure and Josie honing her skills.
