Loved the progression of exploration and fulfillment. Clara and James are strong fully developed characters I could befriend and admire. Their difficult circumstances never defeated them because they had a bond of commitment and love, shared and expanded in their love. David, Clara's brother, is a wonderful character devoted to her and wonderfully supportive even when faced with the dilemma of class difference. The story unfolds making each new chapter anticipated as a wrapped gift. Rebecca Aubrey will be very successful if she fulfills the promise of this story in the following Trade Wind series. Can't wait to delve into the next....and the one after that.

Love this storyline, it has side interests of the h as well as the H. Lady Clara and her brother David, the current Earl of Everleigh also dabbles in Trade which has allowed him to restore the coffers of the estates that he inherited. Clara is a spinster with interests of her own that she keeps secret because it would be frowned on by the Ton. James is a Trademan and a very successful businessman of humble background, orphaned at an early age. It draws you into the story and it doesn't disappoint. Very good read.

The beginning of Trade of a Lifetime by Rebecca Aubrey pulled me into the story of seeking pleasure outside of marriage. Sadly the excessive wordiness of thoughts and descriptions reduced my enjoyment of this lengthy book, as did the unnecessary “f” word and the very explicit sex scenes.

As the story unfolded and the characters were fleshed out, their growing strength saved me from giving this offering three stars. Since I enjoy character driven tales with strong lead characters, I was able to finish this book. I even considered the cute ending and epilogue to be smile worthy.

Content 411: In addition to secular and religious swearing, this book also contains one “f” vulgarity and several explicitly graphic sex scenes.
