Author, poet, and literary critic, Edgar Allan Poe is credited with pioneering the short story genre, inventing detective fiction, and contributing to the development of science fiction. However, Poe is best known for his works of the macabre, including such infamous titles as The Raven, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, Lenore, and The Fall of the House of Usher. Part of the American Romantic Movement, Poe was one of the first writers to make his living exclusively through his writing, working for literary journals and becoming known as a literary critic. His works have been widely adapted in film. Edgar Allan Poe died of a mysterious illness in 1849 at the age of 40.

This collection of Edgar Allan Poe’s poems & tales are a COMPLETE collection of ALL of his known published work.I did a lot of research on the published “Complete Collections” of Edgar Allan Poe before I purchased one.I picked this one because my research led me to. Mind you, I don’t just do a couple google searches. I study many things like the National Archives & the Library of Congress just to name two. There are many resources & many Edgar Allan Poe fans & collectors out there who led me here. While this is a Barnes & Noble publication of his work, I also picked it because it is edited very well. I love how the font & spacing is just right for me, ME. What might be right for me, might not be right for you. This isn’t the only published “Complete Collection” of his work out there, but you must be careful because not every published “Complete Collection” is an actual Complete Collection. You have to do your research before purchasing because you will just end up disappointed.Side Note:The front & back cover art is very mesmerizing to me. I love this book & read it often. Annabel Lee, The Masque of the Red Death & The Tell Tale Heart are my favorites. Of course I love The Raven, but every EAP fan does.

Great collection from Poe... Nicely bound...

This book is very well made! It looks even better in person than in pictures—almost like it has character of its own! I love all the details in the cover! I’m so pleased with this purchase and so glad I bought it instead of buying several smaller books with his works in it!

This was a nice compilation of the works of EA Poe.
This hard cover book itself was bound well, and looked good. Some nice artwork on the outer and inner cover and gilded edge.

The physical book is absolutely beautiful and very well made! I love the included ribbon bookmark and the silver on the side pages. I also bought the ebook version as the physical book is rather too large and bulky to be carrying around all the time. The e-book version however is a complete clusterF#$#! I would like to read this book in the order of how the stories appear in the table of contents, however the ebook version is in a completely random order compared to the physical book and takes forever to find each story. On my older kindle reader it is almost impossible as there are no links from the table of contents and the page numbers and location numbers are in no particular order. I threw my Kindle across the room in frustration.

Long story short, get the physical book, it is most excellent! The e-book version however, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!

This is a beautiful book, I honestly can say that it is worth $25. There may of course be cheaper items containing all his works, however this book’s font and formatting truly bring out the tales and poems. It also contains Edgar Allan Poe’s only novel The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket, which I have not read before, as the book I once got at a library did not include it nor did it include Eureka. So I am thoroughly excited to read those works that were omitted from the copy of his complete works that I had read before. It is also nice that there are section dividing pages, for poetry and fiction. The introduction included is also a nice touch as it is a brief biography of Edgar Allan Poe and his works. I definitely recommend this book to any fan of Poe’s work. The book’s construction also feels very sturdy and has a great quality as far as I can tell. If you can afford it, you should definitely buy it.

Yeah, I think this is probably the most well put-together book I own. It is weighted well, feels good in the hand, and it has a nice legible font. If I had to make the decision over again knowing what I know, I would buy it faster.
