About the author
Author, poet, and literary critic, Edgar Allan Poe is credited with pioneering the short story genre, inventing detective fiction, and contributing to the development of science fiction. However, Poe is best known for his works of the macabre, including such infamous titles as The Raven, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, Lenore, and The Fall of the House of Usher. Part of the American Romantic Movement, Poe was one of the first writers to make his living exclusively through his writing, working for literary journals and becoming known as a literary critic. His works have been widely adapted in film. Edgar Allan Poe died of a mysterious illness in 1849 at the age of 40.

This hard cover book itself was bound well, and looked good. Some nice artwork on the outer and inner cover and gilded edge.
Long story short, get the physical book, it is most excellent! The e-book version however, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I did a lot of research on the published “Complete Collections” of Edgar Allan Poe before I purchased one.
I picked this one because my research led me to. Mind you, I don’t just do a couple google searches. I study many things like the National Archives & the Library of Congress just to name two. There are many resources & many Edgar Allan Poe fans & collectors out there who led me here. While this is a Barnes & Noble publication of his work, I also picked it because it is edited very well. I love how the font & spacing is just right for me, ME. What might be right for me, might not be right for you. This isn’t the only published “Complete Collection” of his work out there, but you must be careful because not every published “Complete Collection” is an actual Complete Collection. You have to do your research before purchasing because you will just end up disappointed.
Side Note:
The front & back cover art is very mesmerizing to me. I love this book & read it often. Annabel Lee, The Masque of the Red Death & The Tell Tale Heart are my favorites. Of course I love The Raven, but every EAP fan does.
