- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2018I bought this book purely because of nostalgia. This was one of the books my parents had at the coffee table when I was growing up. It's as intriguing now as it was back then. Shipping was quick and the condition as stated. Many thanks!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2016The Epic of Man is a very good book put out by LIFE Magazine based on their series in the mid-1950's. It is a simple, positive view of the assent of man from prehistoric days to the ancient Greeks. Based on the anthropology and history of those days. Great pictures. Overall fun to read and look at.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2018Never could find this book in my high school library. It was always checked out. Glad to see this fascinating book once again with it's great Simon Greco illustrations. Well packaged, and incredibly fast shipping.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2023This long-out-of-print book from Life magazine, like a similar large-format Life book "The World We Live In," was a key and cherished part of my early childhood (I was born in 1955) and was a key stimulant of my lifelong interest in archaeology, anthropology, prehistory, and ancient history. Beautiful, fascinating illustrations, with several foldout panoramas, and a foreword by the great Loren Eiseley. Of course, some of the text is now inaccurate and, here and there, is a product of a more prejudiced era. This particular copy was in pretty good shape, and I only needed to use clear tape to repair one of the fold-out pages.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2013This book may have been printed in 1962 and it is remarkably well-preserved. It even came with a hard cover insert to keep it in. That is probably why it is so well preserved. You win some, you lose some, but this is a winner!
