You are simply a skin-covered robot tall enough to reach the candy on top of the fridge. And clean up the rage-vomit when you make the fatal mistake of cutting off the crust on your toddler’s toast. After my sweet babies drifted off to dreamland for their daily nap, I picked up this book. Let me tell you, I couldn't stop reading it! The author is hilarious and I laughed so much I think I burned off the calories from the delicious chocolate dessert my husband thoughtfully brought home for me. I finished this within a couple hours and now, a couple hours after finishing it, my abs still hurt. But, on the bright side, I feel much better and less stressed because of how Bunmi Laditan has written this book. Everything she mentions in this book has truth to it but she lightens up the situations so parents realize they aren't alone and that it gets better. The saying goes "Laughter is the best medicine" and I feel this book really helps parents of toddlers who need some comic relief and honestly, the cost of this book is much cheaper than therapy.
In all seriousness, I really feel this book is a staple for all parents of toddlers but you also must have a sense of humor. If you are very serious and offended by profanity, this book isn't for you. However, if you are too tired to care about the language in a book and just want something that will have you laughing so you feel better, then by all means buy this book! This book is 167 pages long and measures 5 1/4 inches by 7 inches so it's a great size for stuffing in your purse for when you are out and about and need to lock yourself in a public restroom and have a few laughs. I love it so much that I've already ordered a copy for my sister-in-law who has a two-year-old and is pulling her hair out. I highly recommend this book to all sleep-deprived parents of toddlers!
Not only do I recommend you get this book, if you have a toddler (and a sense of humor), but I also think you should get one for a friend, if they have or will have a toddler soon.
It should be a required present for the parent(s) of a child who just recently turned one.
Get the kid a present, and get the parents one too! (A copy of this book). Because after reading it, you will not be loaning yours out. You will be keeping your copy in your "nightly stash" bag for when you need a pick me up and to hear someone tell you: it all will be okay. You will survive, Lol.
Now, you might be rolling your eyes at my review... But if my husband is too be believed, he likens me to "Simon Cowell" of book reviews. ( I don't give out good reviews unless it's been earned.) And in all honesty, If you have a sense of humor and a toddler who is not always a little angel.. then this book is for you.
However, if you think all children are adorable at all times. Honest, beautiful, sweet and can do no wrong. And consider yourself a classic " Suzy- Homemaker"- Then this book is NOT for you.
This book suited me just fine and my husband. We laughed out loud literally. It was a bonding moment for us, after we tucked our little psycho to bed. Not only were we all smiles the entire time, but I plan on keeping it stored permanently on my kindle, so I can go back and savor it again as needed. (Like a fine wine.)
Also, my good friends who are on my "nice list" for Christmas will be receiving a copy. And I will be remembering this book as a good gift to give other parents that I like, who have toddlers. Essentially anyone who is Not a " sancti-parent" ( inside joke that you will have to read the book to know what I mean.
Bravo all around to Bunmi Laditan!! Loved your writing style. And I look forward to more. You will be going on my must read list.

Laditan is decidedly irreverent and makes it clear that she cannot stand hypocritical "all-perfect" parents. She is exposing the nitty-gritty reality of raising small humans and oscillating between wanting to cuddle them and wanting a ticket to get far, far away from there. I am grateful for this book and I hope to read more of hers.
So I quickly reserved her book Toddlers Are A**holes from the library and after two chapters, I jumped online to order the Kindle version for my tablet as I know it is a book I will want to look back on to remind me that I am not losing my mind, that kids are crazy and it's okay to not be perfect.
She tells it like it is. She calls out those who make others feel small and imperfect. She makes jokes out of the everyday things that happen in life with a toddler. Sure some are over the top (and probably never happen), but most are to make you laugh and not feel alone. It's parody people!
Pretty much anything you want to know about raising a toddler is in this book. You need to take the entire thing with a grain of salt and a dose of humour, but it's so hilarious that you'll want a copy for yourself.
Sections about "Grooming Your Goblin", "Mealtime aka Hell", "How Not To Die Inside" and "Rites of Passage" are just a few of the chapters that are filled with wisdom, anecdotes and lists.
If you haven't checked out her website, do it! Or check our her facebook page. You won't regret it. Remember to bring your sense of humour.
