Maggie Moves On Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 9,072 ratings

Can these opposites turn up the heat... without burning down the house?

House-flipping sensation and YouTube star Maggie Nichols can't wait to dig into her next challenge. Arriving in tiny Kinship, Idaho, with only a cot and a coffeemaker, Maggie is prepared to restore a crumbling Victorian mansion in four months or less. She has her to-do lists, her blueprints, and her team. What she
doesn't have is time for sexy, laid-back landscaper Silas Wright.

The man takes flirtation to a whole new level. And he does it shirtless...sometimes pants-less. He and his service school-dropout dog are impressively persistent. But she's not interested in putting down roots. Not when fans tune in to watch her travel the country turning dilapidated houses into dream homes. A short-term fling on the other hand could fit nicely into her calendar. After all, Maggie remembers what fun is like. Vaguely.

As their summer gets downright steamy, Silas manages to demolish the emotional walls she's spent years building, sending Maggie into a panic. He's the wrench in her carefully constructed plans. With the end of the project looming, she has a decision to make. But how can she stay when her entire career is built on moving on?

Do you believe in signs? Silas Wright does. The moment he lays eyes on YouTube sensation Maggie Nichols, he knows she's the girl for him. Maggie and her partner, Dean Jensen, have come to the small town of Kinship, ID, to restore the Old Campbell Place for her internet home renovation show. As soon as she wraps the last episode for the beach house they just finished up, she'll roll up her sleeves, work her magic on this Kinship house and move on to her next project. It's what she does, and does best. She’s spent her adult life rootless, moving from one reno to the next.

Maggie may like the landscape plans Silas has for the Campbell place, but she has a firm rule never to date one of her contractors. Sure, his easy charm, effortless flirting, and compassion for others are appealing, but her lists, schedules, spreadsheets, and timelines leave little room for a good time and none for a romantic relationship. Except the more time she spends with Silas, the more she gets drawn into his world, his community, his family, and the beauty and majesty of the nature that surrounds them.

The Wild West is steeped in history, especially in Kinship, and the Campbell place has its share of secrets. Something Maggie should feel right at home with, since she has her own share of them. As the secrets slowly unfold and work on the house progresses, the Universe takes the opportunity to teach Maggie a few life lessons she never dreamed of, and may be slightly reluctant to learning.

A Lucy Score book is side-splitting laughter, hilarious mishaps and even madcap hijinks. But it’s more. So much more. It's heart-rending emotion, stunning profoundness and heart-soaring delight. And Maggie's story is even more, with this historic home renovation having the unintended consequences of cobbling and collecting a family, finding a home and learning what happiness truly means.

Is it possible for this book to become a series? (*wink, wink* Forever Pub.). This is a world I want to live in forever. I want to move to Kinship and become a part of the fabric of daily life there. There are many grand parties to come at the Old Campbell Place and so many characters to get to know a lot more about. And I definitely need more of Kevin, the big butterball goof who flunked out of service dog training.

With a quirky, endearing cast of secondary characters, a charming small-town setting, and poignant surprises that hit all the right notes, Maggie and Sy's romance has “best seller" written all over it. This enchanting, emotive, phenomenal romance is one of the best I’ve ever read, one I’ll return to again, and one you absolutely won’t want to miss!

Simply incredible. Maggie Moves On is a new favorite! 6 stars! The characters, the attention to detail, the build, the house, and even the dog. There were so many amazing moments filled with so much feeling. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and completely fell in love with Maggie and Silas. This story was perfection.

Maggie and Silas were truly the best. I instantly loved Silas and his flirty ways, he was so charming and sweet right from the start. This man made me melt! I loved Maggie and her in charge attitude and all she’d accomplished and overcome. I understood what she wanted and the conflict it created since Silas was in hot pursuit. They had undeniable chemistry with a playful banter that was sexy and fun. There was an excellent balance between the humor and heat (oh my with the heat!!!). I loved them opening up, learning their history, and being vulnerable. There were so many wonderful scenes between these two that had me laughing and others that were full of so much emotion. It was a very well-rounded story from beginning to end.

I think I loved the secondary characters just as much as I loved Maggie and Silas. I wish I could mention every one of them and just how important and meaningful they were. I loved how their stories and history mixed in with the overall storyline and the wit and cleverness they brought. I loved the family Silas and Maggie formed with them, the friends they find and bring into the fold, right down to the animals, it was everything. I really enjoyed Silas’s family as well and all the different dynamics that were taking place. There were so many moments that filled me up and made my heart happy. Besides the romance, there's a beautiful story about the house itself and the original owners that added a layer of mystery to it all. I loved all the hints and clues and the dots connecting along the way, giving the story an extra special layer that made it even more fulfilling.

I make no secret of the fact that Lucy Score is one of my favorite authors. I feel like she weaves magic into her stories, bringing them to life, making my world just a little brighter. That 100% happened with this book. It was an incredibly well-developed and detailed story with a phenomenal build and I had a really hard time putting my Kindle down and getting anything done. I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next.

Maggie Moves On was extremely entertaining with laugh-out-loud moments but it was also filled with so much emotion and heart and healing… plus a touch of adventure! Fantastic read! 6 stars!

I am a huge Lucy Score fan. However, this book is just OK. A lot of description on the house, renovations and not many of the fun quirky characters that she usually has in her other books. Just ok.
