Got Me Merry (Vet Shop Boys) Paperback – November 23, 2022
Purchase options and add-ons
Can my best friend get me to enjoy the holidays? Ho... Ho... Um…No?
Christmas just isn't my jam. The crowds. The cold. That Mariah Carey song blasting everywhere I go. Thanks, but no thanks.
Don't get me wrong. I'm no Grinch. The holidays are awesome if you have a great family and money to shower them with gifts. Unfortunately for me, I have neither of those things.
All I want for Christmas (great, now I'm quoting that damn Mariah song) is to focus on my internship at the Vet Shop Boys clinic and hanging out with my best friend and roommate.
Turns out Chester has got other ideas. Along with a crew of loved-up vets, he's on a mission to get me to enjoy the holidays and fall in love with him.
Wait… What?!
There's no way I'll ever become one of those festive people who likes Christmas, but who knows? Maybe this will be the first holiday season that actually gets me merry?
Got Me Merry is book 6 in the Vet Shop Boys series and can be read as a stand-alone. Expect plenty of humor, found family, best-friends-to-lovers, a grumpy Christmas Grinch, a sunshiny Christmas lover, some very wacky Christmas traditions, a sizzling hot fun run on a freezing winter day, a two-legged dog with a heart of gold, meddling vets determined to add a sprinkling of love to the holidays, and a heartwarming happily ever after!

Chester and Lawson have a lot of chemistry but are both very oblivious to the fact that the other is feeling the same thing they are. I wanna say–communicate!–but this is one of those stories I just don’t mind it. I love the obliviousness in a holiday romance.
I own the series but haven’t had a chance to read it, but this caught my fancy and I knew it needed to be read for the holidays. I am now dying to go back and read the other stories. I enjoy this author’s storytelling and easy writing. Last, but not least, he used my absolute favorite word–gobsmacked! This book is going in my holiday AND gobsmacked collections of books.
This is a holiday must-read if you ask me.

I loved this one. It was fun. Yes. Law had a rough life but Chess wraps him up in a ball of gooey goodness to keep him from ever feeling unwanted. Then the VSB step in and add to that and really expand his heart to include all of them as family. This book hits you in the feels. It's a.) A Christmas Book; b.) A Book with pets in it this one focused on special needs pets; c.) A Book about falling in love
Please read. Can't wait to read #7 which I have a feeling is about Jeremy and Locky?
10+/10
It took me a while to finish this book because I am a mood reader and switch books constantly. I am so glad I finally picked this book back up. I love this series and I love watching these individuals get their hea and of course the Vet Shop Boys making cameos too
You’re going to love this story and all of the Vet Shop Boys books. I can’t wait to see what stories are going to happen next around a few guys introduced just before the end of this book.
The Vet Shop Boys have **Got Me Hooked!** Thanks Casey!!
"I mean, can you imagine if someone actually documented our lives and wrote a series of romance novels about it? They'd be bestsellers for sure. Imagine if one day the books were made into a Netflix series. Channing Tatum would be perfect to play
me.”

Instead, we are in for a treat with Chess and Law, besties who are vying for the same internship at the Vet Shop Boys clinic as they finish their last year together at vet school. Bless Gus' romantic heart he decides to hire both of them after he detects love brewing. Law hasn't had the most loving, stable past and as a result isn't much of a fan of Christmas. Chess on the other hand loves it and elicits the help of the rest of the vets at the clinic to show Law what the season can be. The guys eagerly agree with the ulterior motive of getting our clueless heroes to realize they're in love with each other and belong together long past Christmas.
This story had a lot of my favourite things, friends to lovers, lots of holiday shenanigans, and an adorable dog. Obviously all of the guys/couples from previous books make appearances and while you don't necessarily have to read the others first it would certainly enhance your experience since otherwise it is quite a cast of characters. I love how developed everyone is, like a real family. This was a perfect holiday read.
Funny story, for those reading on their Kindle, the actual book concludes at 88%, this is important for pacing as I was trying to finish the story before bed the other night and had to concede defeat at around 70% even though it felt like the story was coming to an end I knew I couldn't stay up for another hour, however, the following evening as I sunk into my hot bubble bath with a glass of wine I quickly realized that I only had about half an hour of reading left, which left me scrambling for another book to read right after, lol.
Two men best friends who love each other, you know the trope.
It’s fun, has some hilarious lines, and a reminder that all animals or Christmas trees are beautiful even if they aren’t the perfect that’s e are meant to have.
Loved it, cannot say that enough about the book or the writer.
Do yourself a favour and have a read.
