This book is a cheap, self published edition from lulu.com. There are egregious typos on nearly every page, such as the word Chess-master being spelled "cbess-mnsLer" on page 50, which seems to indicate it was carelessly scanned from another text. Paragraphs end in mid sentence and there is no copyright or publisher information of any kind inside the book. It appears to be a pirated edition.

It is a cheap print of the original I have both. Some pages the print was messed up but you can still read it. It's over priced I think

This is a review of the CreateSpace publication, not the Symonds book itself. It is full of missing words, letters, punctuation; misplaced words, letters punctuation; question marks replacing words and letters; gibberish; etc. In many places it's essentially unreadable. All the photos and illustrations from the orginal work are not included, even though the text refers to them. Do not purchase.
