D.N. Grace tells her story as a cancer survivor. Still in her twenties, Grace sees her life goals unfolding just as she planned. With a passion to serve God, her dream school within reach, and the love of her life at her side, she suddenly finds her life out of control and turned upside down taking a very different path. In Your Pain Is Not A Waste, Grace tells her story of being diagnosed with stage 3 soft tissue sarcoma and given two years to live, only if the chemotherapy drugs work.

Cancer survivors will learn about:

  • early symptoms of cancer that can easily be missed and ignored
  • a new perspective of pain and how to value and embrace each moment
  • faith, peace, encouragement, and a renewed desire to fight

Caregivers will learn:

  • How to be consistent in their love through the ugliness of the disease
  • Statements/words detrimental for a cancer patient to hear
  • How to be a strong encourager for their loved one

Your Pain Is Not A Waste reveals:

  • the long-term side effects of chemotherapy treatment, the questions, the conflicts, the sacrifices
  • the tough choices cancer patients and their caregivers make every day and the pain they have to endure in their battle to beat cancer
  • the truth about cancer, and how sarcoma can leave the cancer survivors and their caregivers weary

Through her journey and after facing cancer, Grace learns how God creates beauty out of ashes, and how He shapes a person as He works through pain. A Must Read for Those Going Through Pain"A touching, authentic, and powerful story of a young Christian woman's painful, yet faith-filled, cancer journey. Unique perspectives from her devoted husband, beloved sister, and loyal friend are interspersed throughout her deeply personal account. This book will encourage your heart, challenge your thinking, and strengthen your faith, or invite you to seek out a relationship with Dalia's Lord Jesus Christ."

-- Kim Coburn, an avid reader, breast cancer survivor and aspiring writer

From the Author

Since I thought about writing this book, I was praying day and night for the person who will read it. I know everything happens for a reason. I believe this book will find you. You are the right person for this book.
I am a very simple girl. My life was not simple or easy even before I had cancer. But my heart always searched for God. I never blamed Him in anything, but all the time I wanted to know the reason for what was happening to me.
I care a lot about my achievements, goals, and having a timeframe for everything even in my relation with God. I used to consider my illness and pain as lost time. However, I have learned that God only cares about
you, and He can do wonders with you, but in His own timing.
This book is not just about sickness and pain. It's about how He keeps working in your life to peel off all the fake things that create a shell around you. He does this in order to form and show the best you that you can possibly be.

This book barreled down on me like a freight train. I did not expect that. I picked it up this morning to glance through it and set it down a few hours later, totally overwhelmed. And intensely grateful to Dalia and her husband Remon for the gift of this testimony. Let me say honestly - the description does not do justice at all to the contents of the book. Dalia seems to effortlessly describe indescribable things, while simultaneously covering the pages in warmth, like wings spread over you. She speaks with honesty and poignancy about the reactions that many people had to her suffering, exposing false theology that has taken root in too many lives, bearing fruit that is painful and destructive. But even these words are dripping in grace. Dalia's memoir (beautifully interwoven with segments told from the perspectives of her husband and her best friend) is a brilliant light in a dark world.-Jenny G

This is a very impactful story. Dalia really peels back the layer onto what cancer is like and shows us the faithfulness of God through it all! Definitely worth a read!

I can’t think of a more perfect book to have read during quarantine! Her story so powerful and she takes you on the journey with her. This book gives you the perspective from the patient, the supporters and ultimately the patient who turns into a survivor. This book will uplift you, encourage you and inspire you to fight every battle head on. I appreciate the sprinkling in of bible verses, too. Thank you D.N. for being transparent, raw and vulnerable with your readers. Amazing work! Must read!!

Don't pass up Your Pain Is Not A Waste. It is the most powerful, heart-wrenching book I've ever read. Throughout you'll find yourself crying with Dalia and at times crying for Dalia. However, there's no need to cry for Dalia because the Almighty God has her in His hands and she KNOWS it. Non-believers, especially those who are going through horrendous tribulation in their lives, can find hope that there really is a God and the He cares. Professed Christians will be awakened as to whether they are true believers. And true believers will ask, "Am I really serving our great God or am I just basking in His promises?" This book is all about the glory of God as displayed in a person who truly loves Him and is willing to endure whatever He asks of her. My husband and I find it such an honor and pleasure to personally know such a true believer and disciple of Jesus Christ.

What an inspiring story of strength and faith. The author's example of prayer and connecting with others was a great reminder that I don't have to go it alone through my own struggles and worries. I appreciated how her husband, friend, and sister shared their experience and perspecitive as caregivers. The book's introduction begins "Since I thought about writing this book, I was praying day and night for the person who will read it". I feel blessed reading this book, thank you Dalia!

A solid story of a journey through fear and pain. It was very interesting and enlightening to read from the perspectives of a variety of people who were on that journey with Grace. God is the keeper of everyone's story and desires to meet each person in their deepest pain as he did Grace. My 12-year old loved how Hodor was a source of comfort. God can use so much to minister to us if we let Him. Read it and be delighted!
