Bestselling author Salma Hage is from Mazarat Tiffah (Apple Hamlet) in the mountains of the Kadisha Valley in north Lebanon. She has over 50 years of experience of family cooking – learning to cook from her mother, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law, while helping to raise her nine brothers and two sisters. Hage is also the author of Phaidon's James Beard award-winning The Middle Eastern Vegetarian Cookbook and The Mezze Cookbook.

This book is a replacement of a new edition of The lebanese Kitchen that my husband got me a few years ago , as that book fell apart, and it was held together with scotch tape, it's now out in the alley, no doubt someone will take it anyone it's falling apart, as it's a very special , and very useful cookbook.

This edition seems to be lesser quality as far as the physical book, but last night I served a meal using 15 of the recipes, including seasoning mixes, and everything came out fantastically. Can’t wait to try more recipes! Buying a copy for my son now, as he also loved the food.
