- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2021I also have the bacteria book which is why I purchased this one without a second thought. Both books are great. The format allows me to pick a topic and jump to that topic so I don’t have to read a long book from cover to cover for my daughter. There are plenty of of high color pictures and engaging blurbs that explain each part of the picture. It’s a great reference that a kid will pick up and read and unless you have a degree in this subject you’ll probably learn a lot from the kids book.

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2020While we understand that genes mutate and adaptation favors beneficial genes and traits, the claim that new species come from mutations in other species is unfounded. So, I don't love that there is a whole double-page spread on the topic of the species family tree, per se. Other than that false information, the book is well designed, fun to look at, and informative.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2021It teacher you everything you need to know about DNA I recommend 100% i disliked none of it! Amazing book
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2021My son loves this book. He recites facts from it while we’re going somewhere in the car.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2021It's a good book as an introduction, however I feel that it could've been better with more detailed info on a lot of things

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything about DNA and more
If I had this book for my 11th and 12th grade I would have understood DNA better. The best part is my 9-year-old loves it too, which is surprising because this is not really easy to understand. Maybe the pictures and how a simple thing as DNA could be holding such complex information is what might have attracted him. This is a really good gift for budding scientists, doctors or even adults who love science

5.0 out of 5 stars Super book
DNA is one of my favourite subjects and I wanted a simple, colourful, yet informative book about it to help start explaining it properly to my 6yo. She finds it interesting and with help, not too hard to understand. A bit advanced for her age to read alone, but super guide with some parental help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book: makes science engaging and understandable
This was everything we could have hoped. DNA is fascinating, but complicated. The book makes it approachable and engaging, and my little girl was so enthused, she wanted us to make a pipe cleaner model of the double helix - thank you, Youtube, for a guide on how to do that! She's enthralled, and all of it after watching Jurassic Park and wanting to know what they were talking about. For a lockdown home education book, you really couldn't have hoped for more. Absolutely recommend (also their Bacteria book - another very child-friendly hit).
