This was my favorite book as a child so I sent it to my granddaughter who is horse crazy and she loves it. Timeless.

I wish they would re-release this. It was just the thing I needed to read as a kid; to know that I could go through periods where riding was scary or not as much fun but that it didn't mean I couldn't still love horses or that I wouldn't get my riding confidence back some day. The characters do the kind of riding that hunt seat was invented for--cross country, running and jumping over natural objects--and I grew up wanting to ride where Judy rode, be the horsewoman that Judy was. And have a horse like Lady, of course. I found this book for ten cents in a thrift shop when I was a kid, and it was the best ten cents I ever spent. It'd still be a bargain at $10.00.

This book is worth owning for the illustrations by themselves. Some of C.W. Anderson's drawings resemble black & white photographs.

I've had this book since the 5th or 6th grade (I'm a grandma now!). I recently got it out of a box where I had stored it and it literally fell apart. I found this book through Amazon and was so happy it could be replaced. I ordered it and it was as stated; a person's name on the inside cover but in perfect condition other than that. I'm very, very pleased!

When I was in grade school, this book was sold through the company which children could buy books from. I had one, and wore it out reading and re-reading it. Now as a 'grown-up' I thought about this story and wanted to have one again. I was SO happy to find it used, from Amazon. And its STILL a good story!!

Loved this book as a kid and lost my copy. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. The seller was great, and it brought back good memories reading it again.
