My name is Jorey Hurley and I'm an artist, author, and illustrator. I find endless inspiration in the beauty of daily life.

My critically-acclaimed picture books for kids, are published by Simon and Schuster and are available everywhere picture books are sold. They have been described as “certain to please aesthetically-minded children and adults” by The New York Times, “beautiful” by The Wall Street Journal, and “a delight” by Publishers Weekly.

In addition to my books, I’ve worked with brands such as Ikea, One Kings Lane, Trader Joe's, Samsung, Papyrus, and Anthropologie and my fine art prints hang in homes and businesses on every continent except Antarctica (so far). Ultimately the best preparation for my career has been a family chock full of artists: my husband is an architect, my mother is a sculptor, my brother and father are filmmakers, and all four of my grandparents were practicing artists (two painters, one sculptor and one fiber artist). I graduated from Princeton with a degree in Art History and went on to earn a law degree from Stanford before returning to my creative roots, working as a textile designer in New York City for five years. I now lives in San Francisco with my husband and two kids, and I draw something every day.
