Just getting into the Sackett's series - fun and enjoyable reading. I intend to start at the chronological beginning of this series and take it to the end. I'll be passing these books - by LL - on to my teenage grandsons for their enjoyment and "education" as well.

My husband likes westerns so he really enjoys these books. The stories are not always long ones so you can read a book in no time

Two Sackett series for the price of one. Lamour has been one of my favorite western 'history' writers. I have many including the complete Sackett Family Saga. I like to read em 1-17 and as the family evolves and the story unfolds you start choosing your favorite Sackett (Tyrel & Tell), and least favorites (Orrin & Nolan). I'd like to read more of the lesser Sacketts (Joe, Bob, Flagen). If you like infallible super hero, you'll like Lamour. If you want to be mentally stimulated, you'll be disappointed. Its light, easy read with amazing historical accuracy.

Unlike other excellent western authors West, Johnstone and McGarrity, Lamour avoids human issues - language, body functions, sex - which imo would add depth and realism.

This was great my Husband loved it. I don't care for westerns but he does. So it works. Will bry more of the same kind.

They have done several of these double stories in one book but the idea for this one is pure genius.
The two stories are about 3 Sacket brothers and their sidekick.
Two brothers Tyrel and Orin feature in the first book and then Tel in the second but overlaping and each doing a cameo.
They are good stories and are just about inter-related enough to make it one whole book.
Having read a lot of Louis L'amour I would say these are in the best ten of his ninety or so books.
Great value to get the two together.

I have been reading Louis L'Amour novels for more then 40 years: good yarns and the Sackett stories are his best. I just wish he had written more about pre-War of Independence and pre-Civil War America.
