I have all of the Conan paperbacks as edited by de Camp. I prefer these stories to the 'original' REH. Some will differ, and that is fine, but I grew up on the de Camp editions and LOVED it! Besides, de Camp finished several drafts and even edited other REH works as Conan novels. My favorites include "Treasure of Tranicos" and "The Flame Knife", found in other editions of this series.

This first book I bought as a child while in a grocery store line. I asked my Mom if I could get it, she paused a bit then said, "Yes". I tried to read it right away, but was bogged down in the early essay, "The Hyborian Age, Part One". Another year older and I started reading it ... and loved it! ... I had to get the whole series! I like this series best of all, too bad they are out of print, but you can usually get used ones here on Amazon.

I loved these books. They are the only things I have left from my youth, so I treasure them greatly. Hopes this helps!

Product was shipped very quicky and arrived as described.

As far as the actual book is concerned, a great, pulpy read by one of the originators of the "sword and sorcery" genre. Brings me back to the first time I read it as a teenager!

Conan as written by Howard is the finest heroic fantasy in the last century. More fully realized and believable than the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Conan's character is an edgy blend of Arnold Swartzinager and Clint Eastwood. Magic maidens, and wizards abound enough to overwhelm even a Sinbad. But Conan, although utterly mortal proves more powerful than anyone else conceived by fantasy authors since. It doesn't get any better than this!

A great read for any fan of Howard's original Conan series. This interweaves the original Howard works with newer stories and creates a chronological, episodic adventure that follows Conan as he does what Conan does best: Trample the kingdoms of the world beneath his sandaled feet.

I was 11 or so when my dad gave me this book. Conan captured my imagination and really got me reading. Howard can really captivate your imagination with his incredible scenes and combat. I read every Conan book as a child and those written by other authors as well. As an adult, I have different tastes now. But I will always remember my Conan stories.

The Conan stories are not exactly new, which is quite obvious when reading them. Nevertheless, they left their mark on the fantasy genre as a whole, and for this price, are still worth reading.

I bought this book many years ago after reading the Marvel comics. Lost the book. Now I have bought it again and it was in great condition and delivered in bubble wrap to protect it. Read it again and fired up the imagination and memories to read the whole series.
