Lexi Blake may be writing about "Masters" in this brilliant series, but she is without a doubt the "Mistress" who controls the written word. There may be many books in the BDSM genre but without a doubt, Lexi Blake has proven herself to be a Queen.
It is very hard to pick a favorite of this collection and because I love them all, I won't even try. I wasn't sure what to expect from the story-line, but in a matter of a few pages, in book 1, I was hooked. Sean Taggert, better known as Little Tag, Ian Taggert's baby brother begins it all in "The Dom Who Loved Me." His love for Grace takes them on an amazing journey with conflicts, passion and drama that will keep you on edge from beginning to end.
Ian Taggert, aka Big Tag, is brilliantly fleshed out with no pun intended to his 6'6" height. He is as fierce as the Vikings were and leads his team of operatives on missions that would have made their hair curl. He makes it difficult to love him, yet he is positively irresistible. For 5 years, he has been only half alive, his spirit broken by the woman he loved with all his soul, and who he thought betrayed him, as she died in his arms.
OMG, has Ian ever met his match! Charlotte, better known as Charlie, suddenly shows up on his doorstep with a sassy grin that just about stops his heart. No spoilers here except to say, the list of enemies keeps growing and the erotic combustion between them is off the charts! I LOVE Ian, especially because of his vulnerability which he tries desperately to keep under wraps.
This is a gloriously poignant story that challenges Charlotte's love for her sister at the expense of her love for Ian and how she redeems herself to ensure they have a future together. There are so many intriguing individuals that make up McKay-Taggert Security, I am already chomping at the bit to begin reading Book 6, Damon Knight's tale. Books #7, 8, and 9 are on my wish list. Kudos Ms. Blake for making a complex plot flow so effortlessly into a most incredible series!

My Review:This is the book I've been waiting for since I read Alex and Eve's book. I waited a long time for Ian's book.Ian was in every book before this one and he was the snarky, sarcastic leader/co-owner of Mckay-Taggart and Sanctum. Sanctum is an exclusive fetish club.I wanted to see which woman could handle Ian Taggart. And bring him to his knees.We learned in the previous book that Ian was married previously but unfortunately his wife died five years ago.Ian was crushed, even though he would never admit it, he loved his wife and was devastated when he lost her.Charlotte had no choice but to fake her death to save her sister. What else could she do?But that meant giving Ian up and that was the hardest thing she had to do. Charlotte's tried to be good and do good in the world since then.She also has been trying to keep her and her sister safe, as a lot of people want them dead.But in all the five years she was suppose to be dead she never forgot the only man she ever loved. And she would do anything to get back to him.Charlotte shows up on Ian's door step and expects to be welcomed back. That’s definitely not the case with Ian.He is furious that she lied to him and faked her own death. Not to mention it took her five years to end up at his door.He kicks her out, but Charlotte is not a quitter. She shows up the next day claiming apart ownership to Ian's businesses since Texas is a community property state.And they have been married for the last 5 years. At least according to Charlotte.Ian is the only man that has ever made Charlotte desire and want what he could give her.The sexy scenes are really HOT and for the most part loving. Ian shows Charlotte what it means to submit to him when he dominates her.And Charlotte learns that she needs to submit to this man to be satisfied.Charlotte is determined for Ian to take her back, no matter what it takes, she thinks information is the key.Ian is as stubborn as the day is long. And snarky. And sarcastic.Charlotte has been hurt in her life and just wants to be with the one man that makes her feel whole and special.Ian loves Charlotte and will never love anyone else the way he loves her, but that’s not the problem.The problem is can he ever trust her again?Would I Recommend:I absolutely loved this book! I waited so long and I was not disappointed! I would give this 5 stars!I love second chance romance novels and this was no different.The love was there, but there was a lot to work through if they wanted to find a way back to each other.I also really loved how strong and lethal both of these characters.
