A true story, this fascinating page-turner demystifies what happens after we die and will forever change your views about life, death and the hereafter.

Annie Kagan is not a medium or a psychic, she did not die and come back to life; in fact, when she was awakened by her deceased brother, she thought perhaps she had gone a little crazy

In The Afterlife of Billy Fingers: How My Bad-Boy Brother Proved to Me There’s Life After Death, Kagan shares the extraordinary story of her after death communications (ADC) with her brother Billy, who began speaking to her just weeks after his unexpected death.

One of the most detailed and profound ADC’s ever recorded, Kagan’s book takes the reader beyond the near-death experience. Billy’s vivid, real-time account of his on-going journey through the mysteries of death will change the way you think about life. Death and your place in the Universe.

In his foreword, Dr. Raymond Moody, author of Life after Life, explains the phenomena of walkers between the worlds, known to us since ancient times, and says that Dr. Kagan’s thought-provoking account is an excellent example.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Let Billy Fingers take you on a journey to the world which awaits you when you leave this earthly shell. Through Billy's sister Annie, he takes YOU on a voyage between the realm of possibilities and gives you a glimpse of how life in the spirit world is lived. The time has come to familiarize yourself with the amazing world of Spirit and Billy is your perfect guide." ─James Van Praagh, author of Talking to Heaven and Ghosts Among Us

"Greek philosophers even had a name for the people who somehow suspended between this life and the next life, "walkers between the worlds." Dr. Kagan's thought-provoking account is an excellent example." -Raymond Moody, M.D., Ph.D., bestselling author of twelve books including Life After Life--which has sold over 13 million copies world wide

"Having read The Afterlife of Billy Fingers, death feels like an adventure to look forward to. In this conversation between an introspective, artistic woman and her dead, bad-boy brother, Annie Kagan and Billy Fingers manage to collaborate on a work of transcendent wisdom, irreverent humor and sublime beauty. This exquisitely written book makes me want to live my life with as much joy as possible, and lay fear to rest." -Mirabai Starr, author of God of Love and Dark Night of the Soul

"I read The Afterlife of Billy Fingers in 90 Minutes...I could not put it down … what a great book, really one of the best in this genre." -Arielle Ford, bestselling author of Wabi Sabi Love & The Soulmate Secret

"The Afterlife of Billy Fingers is one of the best books I've read on the subject of life after death. So much of what the author describes jibes with my experiences of both being with dying people at the moment of their deaths and in two long, extended Near Death Experiences I've had myself. The book strikes chords of truth again and again and again.

The excellent writing and the story itself hold the reader's attention beautifully. Skeptics will keep reading to "find out what happens next." And whether you're a skeptic or a true believer, the book will powerfully engage you. Part of the book's premise is Annie's questioning whether her communication with Billy is real or her own craziness, and that mystery keeps us reading and seeking answers. We want to find out for ourselves what the source of this communication really is. Along the way, what Billy tells Annie is inspiring, enlightening, and insightful. The book works. It's a good read with an appealing and controversial message." --Hal Zina Bennett, author of more than 30 published books including Write from the Heart and The Lens of Perception

"The Afterlife of Billy Fingers reaffirms the NDEs experiences of the light and love I encountered on the other side. It's an engaging account of the transformation of the spirit and I highly recommend." ─Dannion Brinkley, bestselling author of Saved by the Light

"The Afterlife of Billy Fingers by Annie Kagan is a wholly believable story that never loses its grounding in the daily life we all know. The voices of the narrator and her deceased brother never strike a false note. This is not a story that asks you to believe anything, but simply to listen with an open mind and heart. I think you will find yourself transfixed." --Rev. Susan Varon, Ordained Interfaith Minister

"I am telling everyone I know about this book. And I LOVE the clever word play puzzles he gives you, like setting down pearls in an elaborate puzzle, that allow you (and us) to confirm his journey. Thanks to both of you for this thrilling book. I barely slept so I could pick it up again." ─Richard Martini, bestselling author of FlipSide: A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife

"The Afterlife of Billy Fingers is an extraordinary example of extended after-death communication. It's one of the most powerful, liberating, and healing books on life after death I've ever read. In fact, you may have a spiritual experience while reading it that will transform your beliefs about life, death, and the afterlife. I cannot recommend this luminous book highly enough." -Bill Guggenheim, bestselling co-author of Hello From Heaven!, Publisher's Marketplace

Annie Kagan began writing songs at the age of fifteen and began performing in New York City cafes and clubs. After ten years as a songwriter and performer, Annie became a Doctor of Chiropractic and opened a successful private practice on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Attracted to Eastern spiritual traditions, Annie studied yoga and pursued an intense meditation practice. Following her inner voice, she left her career as a doctor and abandoned her hectic city life in search of serenity in a small house by the bay on the tip of Long Island. Soon, her brother Billy died unexpectedly and began speaking to her from the afterlife. She brings together her talents as a lyricist, performer and healer in order to touch the lives of others with Billy’s communications from the other side. www.anniekagan.com.

Annie is a voice to Billy's journey and I think you should take this walk with them
I have to say I enjoyed Annie’s book. It was very brave of her to write this story. You can feel her hesitation and emotions behind what it might mean for her to share this with others. I believe that emotion is what made the book more meaningful to read. It is not easy to share such personal and intimate moments with the world. I love that she overcame that fear and was vulnerable enough to share the story with readers. I am writing a book styled similar, on my encounters with my father in the afterlife. It can be scary to share such intimacy with the world, peoples reactions and words matter. So thank you Annie for sharing your encounters with the world. The spiritual medium in me says, I have never heard spirit say we can become nothing. If we are choosing as a soul to go back to source it is possible that we become a part of, but never nothingness. It is possible though that Billy had his very own experiences centered to his beliefs, he may very well be choosing for himself to float around in silence and solitude. With that being said it would be his choice to drift in and out, possibly coming to visit you in your life Annie at different periods of time. It makes me so sad to read some of others book reviews with such judgement and criticism. We must remember that it is not our story to tell. This is Annie and Billy’s story and their experiences, period. With all of that being said I would recommend reading this book. I believe this book to be a great read for a book club or organization. Many things could be shared and discussed amongst a group. Although I did not find any discussion points included with this book, it could be such a useful tool. If you would like to have some discussion topics to share with others or prompts to journal with you can look below to what I have created. Everyone should read this book!
It’s incredible, and it might answer your questions about what happens after we die.
Whether it’s as true as claimed or just a great story doesn’t matter. It will leave you inspired to live your best life and unafraid of death.
(Still, I have much to do here, so um… no hurry.)

I absolutely love this book! It gives hope in being able to connect to love ones. I know they are still here and watching over us as we learn our lessons in this life.

I loved the Audible audiobook so much that I purchased the CD version to put on my MP3 Player, as well as the Kindle version so I could highlight my favorite parts (which is practically the entire book).

This book really came at a time in my life when it was most needed. I know it may be difficult for many to believe in such an account, but if you could just suspend that disbelief for just a bit, you will experience touches of Heaven while reading/listening to this book. It is beautifully written and so touching. I laughed, cried, and laughed some more.

I really think it was brave of Annie Kagan to write especially with her being a private person. I don't think I could have done that myself being a private person. But I am glad she wrote this for her brother because I am seeing how it's affected my own life and the lives of those who have read it.

Just remember while reading it that it is Billy's own experience of his afterlife. Remember he speaks of other tribes being there. If only we could translate that "down here" maybe we wouldn't be harming each other over religious and spiritual beliefs, and amongst other beliefs.

I also recommend pondering the "Healing Chamber". If you read it, you will know what I mean. I just think it's important to read the book first to understand it.

Wishing all who journey to read this amazing blessing of a book much peace, joy and love EVEN as we walk on this complicated, scary, beautiful and amazing planet we call e/Earth.

This very sweet book of a true story regarding life-after-death communication between siblings was fun and mostly engaging to read. I think it would be an absolutely ideal film; one with some miracles so unlikely that it could be like the best of Hollywood’s movies, yet the story is true--and thus could deeply affect and help many if it was done by a sensitive, careful director and very conscious actors. I had to start with this as I just keep feeling this should happen!

So overall I loved it. Let me begin with my criticisms, and the reason I didn't go for 5 stars. Though a quick and easy read, something in the tone or style of writing made it slow going for me until about page 128, where the authors' ex is helped by her deceased brother Billy in a big way (I won't be a spoiler here with details). Though Kagan is a decent writer, it fell rather flat for me and wasn't moving until that point (when I finally shed a tear of heart-opening wonder). It's a lovely tribute to her brother, and does much to communicate her experience of the grace, healing, love, and wonder that she receives as "downloads" from the other side via Billy, but the writing just doesn't really do it. (maybe this is in part why I'd love to see it as a movie; the writing only mildly conveys it, although she is earnest in her beautiful words).

The other semi-down side is that it goes into great length about Billy's experiences "over there"~and, while interesting, again it is so much about HIS journey and HER experience of the energies he imparts. It's wonderful--and affected me in a positive, uplifting way. But his path seems specific to him, and not explanatory of where all souls go.

On the plus side, it's a great story and quite encouraging and uplifting, in my opinion, if one believes it is true--which I have absolutely no reason to believe not. I love stories with miracles and unlikely healing coincidences, and this does have a few great ones. I appreciated her writing this, taking the risk, and sharing from her heart. And best of all, perhaps, is that, unlike some reports or books on communications from, or experiences of “the other side,” there is no religious overtone nor implication that one need be of a certain faith to experience glorious spirituality and union with the Divine.

Oh, and by the way…my best friend (400 miles away) and I decided to read it at the same time. When I told her my thoughts, she chimed in, “I had the same thought while reading it—that it would make a great movie!”

I had read it after my 17 yo kid crossed over in 2020. My son asked me to re-read it. It's so reassuring to read it; as my son also stays connected with me from higher dimensions after he crossed over. My son inspired me to write a book. I wrote a book from the downloads I got from him, which I published in 2023; it's on Amazon. Annie Kagan gave me hope through this book. The beautiful portrayal of other dimensions and the non-judgmental and unconditional love and light from there is truly remarkable and helps in shattering the separation illusions, myopic views, limiting beliefs and myths we have in this world.
