The author recounts her horrific experiences in a way that not only takes the reader along with her but shows the injustices found in our legal system. She makes an excellent case for the abolishment of the death penalty and review of the concept of solitary confinement. Aside from this, Ms. Jacobs demonstrates a personal resilience and faith in the goodness of people and can be a role model for others. I find this book an excellent description of a woman's life in the prison system and am using it as a suggested reading for a university class I am teaching on Women's Issues in Social Work.

"Stolen Time: One Woman's Inspiring Story As An Innocent Condemned To Death," went on for about two hundred more pages than necessary. However, this is still an important book for people who are interested in criminal justice, wrongful convictions and the unique difficulties faced by incarcerated women, and I'm disappointed it's already gone out of print. Criminal justice professors and those who work with female prisoners should absolutely read this book. The saddest part of the entire book is reading about what the author's children and parents had to endure. I'm not convinced that maintaining the ties as strongly as she did to her children was the best thing for them - but it's also easy to make this kind of observation as a complete stranger judging the situation. I'm also fascinated with Jacobs' continued love for her co-defendant, the boyfriend who was responsible for her being at the scene of the crime - I'm not sure I'd be so forgiving.

On the subject of wrongful convictions, Sunny Jacobs is less than convincing in her arguments that she was indeed an innocent woman wrongly convicted of a double homicide, and this part of the book isn't nearly as interesting as her first-hand experiences as a mother living on death row. I would have liked to have read more details about the lawsuits she filed against the state of Florida - as the only woman on death row in the state, she was provided with none of the basic privileges extended to male prisoners, and she was kept in isolation for several years, until her lawsuits were settled.

In conclusion, Jacobs' story could have probably been written with at least 200 fewer pages, and this isn't a book that makes for great reading, but I do think "Stolen Time" has value for those who have an interest in the criminal justice system.

This book is amazing! A phenomenal read about an incredible intelligent woman who decided that no one would take her mind away from her despite her circumstances. I absolutely loved this book. Sunny Jacobs has become one of my hero’s.

My favorite book of all time. She lets us in her head and her process of adjustment to prison & being wrongly accused.

I know Sunny Jacobs , she lives in Galway Ireland with her husband Peter Pringle also an innocent X lifer. There is no way on earth Sunny could kill anyone. Simply NO WAY.

This book is a must read. Her story is heartbreaking. It had me crying several times and I have read it twice.

I thought the book was great and definitely proves to us why the Death Penalty should be abolished, however, I had one issue with the book. Sunny, continuously painted herself to be oblivious to Jessies lifestyle as well as take real responsibility for screwing up her and her kids lives. Should she have gotten thw death penalty, no way but she was not as clueless as she portayed herself to be.

I bought this book having met the author at her partners book launch. It is a true story of how the author,Sunny Jacobs, and her husband were arrested and falsely accused of murdering a policeman in America. They were both sentenced to death and here her story begins. It is a fasinating look at how one person can overcome so much and come out the other side with forgiviness and peace in her heart. It also tells of the affect her sentence had on her family. It is truly a page turner and i would reccomend it to anyone!!
My niece also read it and agreed fully with how brilliant it is!!
