On the subject of wrongful convictions, Sunny Jacobs is less than convincing in her arguments that she was indeed an innocent woman wrongly convicted of a double homicide, and this part of the book isn't nearly as interesting as her first-hand experiences as a mother living on death row. I would have liked to have read more details about the lawsuits she filed against the state of Florida - as the only woman on death row in the state, she was provided with none of the basic privileges extended to male prisoners, and she was kept in isolation for several years, until her lawsuits were settled.
In conclusion, Jacobs' story could have probably been written with at least 200 fewer pages, and this isn't a book that makes for great reading, but I do think "Stolen Time" has value for those who have an interest in the criminal justice system.
This book is a must read. Her story is heartbreaking. It had me crying several times and I have read it twice.
