5.0 out of 5 stars McClelland's research approach is better reflected in his journal articles though
Actually, I, Joe, purchased the book, not Julie. McClelland is especially known for research on achievement motivation, but I was interested in his approach to motivation overall. The book is largely a survey of different approaches to studying motivation; it is written as a textbook. There is also another book on human motivation edited by McClelland that is a collection of articles written by various authors including McClelland. This is not that book. McClelland's research approach is better reflected in his journal articles though.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2013This book is a great resource of knowledge, covering many critical topics for understanding motivation and perhaps challenging both past and current research. Although, its content is indepth, it is an easy read for graduate and doctorate students, as well as business professionals, especially those in leadership, HR, or OD positions. To gain the most from it, would suggest alloting the needed time to enjoy and savor its content. Can also be used as a reference.

2.0 out of 5 stars Klassiker, der beim Versand angeditscht wurde
