The Abolition of Sex: How the “Transgender” Agenda Harms Women and Girls Kindle Edition
"Dansky’s book, The Abolition of Sex, isn’t written in the same kind of fulminating, entertainingly rageful prose, but it is a persuasive exercise in no-bullshit argumentation. I recommend it even to people who are inclined to disagree with her." —Matt Taibbi, Meet the Censored: Kara Dansky
The so-called “transgender” agenda is a misogynistic assault on the rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls—and is being fueled by a massive, vicious, and well-funded industry.
Most Americans do not understand the real threat that the “transgender” agenda, or the so-called “gender identity” movement, poses to all of us—especially women and girls—nor do they understand the extent to which it is taking over U.S. law and civil society. The simple truth is that “gender identity” functions to abolish sex, and all of our civic institutions—government, media, academia, and business—have been completely captured by it. We have been told that “transgender” is a word to describe a marginalized group of people who are in need of civil rights protection; it is not. Instead, it is an incoherent word that is being used to advance a much broader agenda. There are many people—including people on the political left—who understand the threat that enshrining “gender identity” in law and society poses, but they are silenced when they try to speak out. This book shines a light on the truth about “gender identity,” the “transgender” agenda, the very real threats that they pose to all of society—specifically to the rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls—and what the global Women’s Human Rights Campaign is doing to fight back.

This book makes it very clear that the rights of women and girls in the United States, won after decades of sacrifice and labor by our mothers and grandmothers, are being blithely handed away again by the very groups that women think are protecting them, in order to serve an impossible idea: that men who say they feel like women literally ARE women. Even worse, skyrocketing numbers of American children are being groomed into agreeing to be permanently sterilized, even surgically altered, before they're old enough to have any idea what that could possibly mean for their lives.
This is an important book. It should be in every public and university library in the United States, and read by every woman.
The Trans industry is a lucrative business, though, and surgeons and Big Pharma make lots of money in the process off puberty-blockers and cross hormones which an individual who has transitioned needs to take for life to remain that way. How much has social media fueled this ideology among young people too? Seeing and listening to celebrities in the limelight who trans and get attention for doing so. However, for young people "the fix" isn't a glamorous process (especially surgical alterations) and instead of a hyped up media response like those of celebrities can cause a new set of problems and/or medical issues.
Sweden is the first country to step back on transgender policies now restricting puberty blockers and surgeries to minors. Finland and Norway are reassessing their policies as well. It would serve to learn some lessons from those countries.

The issues raised in this book are of genuine and urgent public interest. Even if you end up disagreeing with the author, it is very much worthwhile hearing her out ... with a fair-minded and open approach. Simply put: I highly recommend this book! Please read it for yourself, and having done so, tell your friends and family about it. I have done so myself, and although it led to some difficult conversations with a few people, the overall basic claims being made by Ms. Dansky have been well-received by the vast majority of the people I have discussed it with.
While this may sound harmless, it has far-reaching consequences, from the erasure of words to describe individuals that are biologically female, to the complete errosion of saveguarding principles. This includes not only allowing intact males to use women's changing rooms, claiming prizes for women only, but ultimately destroys lesbian communities and women's sports. Maybe most sickening is the fact that male rapist are housed with vulnerable women in jail, if they claim a "female gender identity".
It sounds dystopian but has become reality, especially in the US.
Kara Dansky describes the background and consequences of gender ideology focusing mainly on the US. I was familiar with the topic, and thus most of the content did not come as a surprise to me, but the clear, precise writing style of Kara Dansky made reading the book an absolute pleasure. It is a valuable resource, both for getting an overview of the theory underlying gender identity ideology, and the multiple ways in which this negatively affects women and girls specifically. A multitude of examples from real live illustrates the dire consequences.
A must read for anyone who sincerely cares about the rights of women born female.
