About the Author

Ram Gidoomal was born into an Indian immigrant family in Kenya. Aged 17, his family moved to London where Ram built a successful career in business. A life changing journey led him to dedicate his business skills and profits to those who need them most. He was awarded the CBE in 1998 and is included in Highflyers50 –the 50 most eminent people of Indian origin living and working outside India.

    Born into an Indian immigrant family of silk traders, Ram enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Mombasa, Kenya - the family having rebuilt its fortunes after fleeing the Partition of India and Pakistan.

    But, as he turned 17, his family endured a devastating second deportation, this time to London.

    Starting from scratch, Ram built a successful career in business, and was firmly on the road to super-abundance, when a life-changing journey led him, instead, to dedicate his business skills to those most in need.

    Ram has worked for over 30 years at senior management levels, and as Chair, Board Member, etc.

    Three British universities have conferred an Honorary Doctorate on him, and he is included in "Highflyers 50" - the fifty most eminent people of Indian origin living and working outside India.

    Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II awarded him a CBE in 1998.

    His ninth book is the memoir, "My Silk Road: The adventures and struggles of a British Asian refugee".

Transformation to follow Jesus:

No matter where you are(physically, psychologically, spiritually, emotionally). God can touch you. Jesus at Pub? Yes, we read the New Testament Gospels, Jesus hangs around those in these places. The man from Galilee is indeed in transformation of the lives of people.

Life's tough situations: God will make a way. From Kenya to London. The physical movement has bought a lot of changes and perspectives as Ram shares, then finally the trip to India(Mumbai) changes his life forever.
