I don’t want to oversell this novel, but this is a must-read if you like crime fiction!
I am a sucker for a uniquely told and designed story. Even if you think you know what to expect from the cover, blurb, and reviews, I would prepare to be surprised.
Spike is a very bad guy on the inside, but such a nice guy on the outside. His motto is “Always be Smiling.” As well put together as a character can get. Well planned, well created, and interesting to boot. Well put together characters with a strong story that pushes you forward toward the end. Like any of Slavin's stories, the ending is strong and gets you excited for the next one.
I'll have to hold myself over with the Kill Crime series until the next one comes out.

Another Killer success by Michael L. F. Slavin! I have loved the Kill Crimes book and this offshoot/side story did not disappoint! It was great to learn more about Spike, what makes him tick, and how he became who he is.I loved how it started right from the end of the another great book and it kept on cruising! I liked how it included Jeff Case as well, even as a little side note.I hope Michael writes more with Spike and I can't wait to see if there will be a Jeff Case/Spike adventure again!Great job and keep 'em coming!
