Beware the Fisherman.

Andi Wyndham has communicated with spirits since she was a kid. When a bone pendant carved into the likeness of a girl’s face calls to her at a gem show in Pennsylvania, she can’t resist buying it and a sister piece. When she discovers the girls are missing runaways and the pendants are made of human bone, Andi is drawn into a mystery that will force her to confront her gifts, her guilt, and the ghosts haunting her.

Pendant Girls Mariah and Bennie urge Andi to find a man they call "Fisherman,” a master of disguise. Teaming up with a handsome private eye and a South Carolina sheriff, Andi must find the girls’ bodies and put their souls to rest, before the Fisherman casts his deadly net to trap Andi.

Best Quality book I have ever felt

Best Quality book I have ever felt
I know this is a strange one but the quality of this book is hands down the best quality I have ever held in my hands, actually to it's determine. The binding is so tight that the book is hard to hold open. As someone who has had multiple hand surgeries this made it difficult to read. The pages OMG they felt like silk and were thick. Now to the story... I loved this story, pretty original. All the characters were like able obviously except for the bad person. My only slight issue with the story is the author doesn't describe the atmosphere/surrounding/setting very well. I am a person that tried to visualize what I am reading and I had a hard time doing that with this book. But what I do like is because of this the author concentrated on the characters more than anything and I absolutely loved that.I absolutely would recommend!!! But if you get the hard cover be prepared for a heavy kind of hard to hold book, unless you don't mind breaking the spine and I absolutely refuse to do that.On another note, I am now interested in planting a ginko tree in my yard

There are a lot of really, really funny lines in Bone Pendant Girls, and the scene with Mariah's mother just broke my heart. I get tears in my eyes, remembering it. I read 170 pages the first day and was dying to know what happened next at every moment. I also cried in the last few pages, something I consider absolute proof that the characters got to me, including the ghosts!

Bone Pendant Girls is a phenomenal paranormal suspense thriller! The author, Terry S. Friedman, does a great job creating a world and characters that are believable, relatable, and engaging. She solidly sets the stage for the rest of the book in the first few pages. One line in the book really stirred my heart as one character, Tom, laments that kids make mistakes but should not have to die for them. That is at the story's heart and speaks much to what happens in the real world.

The characters draw you into the story from page one. They continue to engage you until the last page of the book. The relationship between Andi, the Girls, and the Shadow children lends an erie yet heartwarming edge to the story. They make you feel that Andi's gift is not so extraordinary and immensely useful.

A lot is going on in this book. The story walks between two worlds, with the common denominator being Andi. The storyline is robust, fluid, compelling, and moves faster than it seems. Some elicit a visceral response, be it cheering, tears, laughing, laughing through tears, or looking for the key to your gun's lock box (because a particular character in the book really needed to die).

With suspenseful drama, paranormal action, a who-done-it mystery, a little romance, a little humor, and much tragedy, Bone Pendant Girls is a very entertaining and compelling page-turner that I thoroughly enjoyed. I did not want to put it down. I hope the author turns this into a series. Reading more crime-solving adventures from Andi, Eli, and gun-toting Fiona would be fun in more stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book!! It was such a pleasure and a privilege to meet you on the flight to Myrtle Beach in December. (Even if the flight was late leaving DC) I pre-ordered my book then and there as you told me it would be coming out in the upcoming weeks. The book was well-written and very engaging. I couldn't put it down! I want more! Thank you so much for letting me know about the book, but better than that you exceeded my expectations, as I have a natural fear of the paranormal. The book was so heartfelt, heartwarming and thought provoking about the plight of runaway. CONGRADS!

Bone Pendant Girls by Terry Friedman is a compelling paranormal thriller that draws in the reader from the beginning and doesn't let go. The detail of the character building and the fact that the story is told from multiple points of view (including the murder victims themselves) give the novel an aura of empathy that a reader might not otherwise have for the characters' plights.

Andi has struggled throughout her lifetime to deal with the Otherworld and the beings that inhabit it. Since life has not always treated Andi kindly, she has hardened her heart to the living, except for her best friend Fiona. Fiona is the perfect foil for Andi and understands her quirks and ability to talk to the deceased. When Andi discovers two bone pendants at a market that portray the faces of two young murder victims, she begins to her their voices and stories. Fiona and a cast of intriguing characters help Fiona discover what happened to the Bone Pendant Girls, Bennie and Mariah.

Throughout her description of Andi, Friedman takes time to show, and not tell, the reader the potential ups and downs of being able to communicate with the dead. There are moments of pure joy of receiving a message to be able to help solve a mystery; however, there are also moments of pure grief. Friedman never takes for granted the reader or their possible knowledge, or lack thereof, of the paranormal and how it functions in the richly defined world she has created for her characters.

I received an ARC for review. This review is honest and voluntary.

I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. I ended up staying up all night to finish it. The story takes place in beautiful South Carolina! Andi is shopping when suddenly a cameo pendant calls out to her. Andi has been able to see ghosts since she was a little girl. Her mother does u! She soon discovers the girls in the pendant were missing but she knew they were dead. She teams up with a PI to find out who murdered the girls!

This book was very suspenseful! I loved the setting and original story. It is well written! This is my first time reading this author but definitely not my last! I loved the PI and Andi’s relationship and how it slowly builds. I highly recommend this book and this author!
