The One I Want: A single dad, nanny, small town romance (Rolling Hills Book 1) Kindle Edition
I fled the city to get my life together. Not to fall in love with the single dad.
My name is Betsy Sullivan, and I’m a hot mess.
My parents have cut me off. No jobs interest me. I have no idea what I want for my future.
Then there’s my love life. Or lack thereof.
So I do what every twenty-something does when she’s lost—pack up my life and move to a small town in Tennessee.
I didn’t expect to find—and fall in love with—Wes Taylor.
I tried to resist. I swear.
Then I saw how much he loves his kids. And how hot his professional football player body looks like in a pair of gray sweatpants.
And once he kissed me? I was a goner.
For the first time in my life, I finally feel like my life has purpose.
I should have known that some things are too good to be true.
Because I’m Betsy Sullivan. The hot mess. The lost soul.
And I might be ready to spend my life with Wes Taylor.
I just don’t know if he’s ready to spend his life with me.

Review
I loved the whole cast of characters, new and old, and I am hoping and keeping all my fingers crossed that we will see more from the crew from Rolling Hills! This is definitely going to be in my best reads of 2023! — Bibliophile Chloe
★★★★★
This has everything I love in an exceptional romcom - the trash talk between friends who are closer than brothers and always have your back, small-town charm and quirks, and clever banter and sparkling chemistry between the hero and heroine. Add in three adorable kids, fake southern charm and a mean girl to the mix, and I'm done. It's my first romance from this talented storyteller and I'm a new fan for life! — Goodreads reviewer
★★★★★
I love single dad heroes, and Wes Taylor has snagged the top spot on my list of favorites! The One I Want is swoony, steamy, and funny - everything I enjoy in a romance. Add in a charming small town and an entertaining group of friends, and well, it just doesn't get better than this. — Author Georgia Coffman

This book had me laughing, crying, cursing the villain, and rooting so much for the main couple. I couldn't put it down- who needs sleep anyway! This is definitely worth a read and dare I say, worth skipping it to the top of your TBR list! — Goodreads reviewer

This book is at the top of my recommendations for 2023 — SA Bates Reader

About the author
Known for her witty sense of humor, Chelle Sloan is a former sports reporter who recently completed her master's degree in journalism, and is now putting that to good use — one happily ever after at a time.
An Ohio native, she’s fiercely loyal to Cleveland sports, is the owner of way too many — yet not enough — tumblers and will be a New Kids on the Block fan until the day she dies. She does her best writing at Starbucks, where you can usually find a Pink Drink within reach. Oh, and yes, you probably saw her on TikTok.
As for her own happily every after? Maybe one day...

Wes Taylor had it all. A great football career, fame and fortune, and a wife and three children who were his world. Until he decided to retire from football and his wife walked out on him and his children. So he takes his kids and moves back to his small home town, knowing that having family close will help his children adjust to their new normal without their mother.
What he doesn’t expect is his parent's neighbor, Betsy Sullivan. His younger daughter connects with Betsy immediately, his son adores her completely, and Betsy has a way of reaching his older daughter who's to old and wise for her age. Wes knows he needs to hire a nanny to help his family get through the end of the football season, and Betsy is a natural choice.
Betsy has failed at every job she ever had, and she's had a lot of them. But there's something about the Taylor children that bring out the protector and defender in her, and she'll do anything to help ease their loss and make them smile. Her attraction to their father is a dangerous thing however, because, if acted on, it could destroy her relationship with his children, something she values above all else.
This sweet, charming romance is full of heart, with just the right amount of angst, and these characters effortlessly stole my heart. I love the small-town setting and the sense of community and family. It’s funny and light-hearted but touching and emotional, and you won’t want to miss a second of this delightful, phenomenal, full-of-feels romance.

Single Dad + Hot Athlete = one sexy read. Wes Taylor is at the end of his football career, ready to retire and finally spend some more time with his kids and wife, that is until he’s handed divorce papers and he’s suddenly their sole caretaker. In walks Betsy, a sassy southern enigma, a true kid whisperer and the perfect nanny for Wes’s kids, even if he has the hots for her and she never saw her career path heading towards being a nanny. These two had chemistry in spades and I loved how his whole family embraced Betsy, becoming the real family unit she always wanted. There were some great heartfelt moments and of course several that had me rolling with laughter!
“I was just a lost soul trying to find her way. I ended up finding a home. And my home is Wes Taylor.”
The romance and passion built throughout the story leading to some VERY hot scenes, Wes is a man that can take care of all a woman’s needs. I loved how natural their relationship felt and how they put the kids feelings first and foremost. Betsy was such a spitfire, I love a sassy and strong heroine that I can easily relate with and laugh with! Overall I smiled much reading this book, definitely a new favorite from Chelle! Excited to see what’s in store for the rest of Wes’s friends Rolling Hills!

Betsy moved to Rolling Hills to be closer to her best friend and get a fresh start. She finds an instant connection with Wes and his kids and Wes hires her to be his nanny. He was recently left by his wife and is playing in his last season in the NFL so his life has changed drastically in the last few months.
I loved Betsy’s relationship with each of Wes’ kids. She had a special bond with each of them and fiercely protected them as if they were her own kids. Both Betsy and Wes fight their attraction, and I’m glad they did because that allowed Wes to start a relationship with Betsy as a free man instead of a man who was technically still married. I loved the friendship they started and how easily they opened up to each other. They were very open and honest about their feelings and that made their bond even stronger.
This was a great fist book to this series. It introduced a whole new cast of characters that I can’t wait to learn more about. Wes’ childhood friend group is full of different personalities and I think each will bring something different to the series. I can’t wait for Oliver’s book next! The romantic elementary school teacher!!!

Chelle is so creative with her characters and a master of tension and conflict. It’s ansty, spicy and swoon worthy. A must have for all romance readers and their TBR!
I loved how sweet their family turned into. Cara was a b*tch but at least because of her we got this beautifull fam in the end right 🥹💕.
And Mann the kids, they are so sweet and lovely. Emerson , she is totally my girl , that's me. Also hank and Mag .At first I thought they were twins coz of how cute they are. 🤭
If you all are looking for a cute funny story , this is totally it.
