Purchase options and add-ons

The Lemonade Cookbook takes the bold flavors, imaginative dishes, and southern California lifestyle that have made the brand an instant hit and captures them in a fresh, beautifully-designed, full-color book. Like Los Angeles, Lemonade's cuisine is carefully blended with variety. L.A. is agents and movie grips, surfers and yoga moms, students and celebrities, and a wide mix of different culinary traditions. At Lemonade the marketplace salads, unique sandwiches, and slow-simmered stews taste as though every culture stirred a bit into the pot―for example, the skirt steak with grilled onions and piquillo peppers with its smoky depth, pairs perfectly with the snappy salad of Chinese long beans, plums, and scallion vinaigrette.

A comfortable place where locals and visitors enjoy a rotating daily spread of deliciousness, the recipes, more than 120 in all, stress simple cooking preparation with a global taste, and are a perfect fit for today's on-the-go lifestyles and perceptive palates. And, of course, it wouldn't be L.A. without the amazing desserts―from banana mascarpone layer cake to caramel fleur de sel macaroons to peanut butter milk chocolate cookies, there are recipes for treats galore, plus ten different recipes for delicious flavors of lemonade.
The Lemonade Cookbook: Southern California Comfort Food from L.A.'s Favorite Modern Cafeteria speaks to all cooks who want to make sophisticated highly-urban "comfort food" with ease.

Recipes can be a little complex to make, but if you are comfortable working with different types of ingredients then would definitely recommend. Everything I've made from this book is amazing and tastes just like it does at Lemonade!

Firstly, if you have ever been to Lemonade you should know that it is a great place to eat. They only use the freshest ingredients and it is healthy. I pre-ordered the book just about a week ago and received it the day it came out. Now, of course, I have not made all the recipes in the book yet. But, I do have to say that it is probably one of the most convenient and less intimidating cookbooks I have ever read. Sorry Julia child, making your Beef Bourguignon is not the easiest thing. On top of the healthy, California-style, home cookin' recipes, Chef Alan Jackson gives you little tidbits on how to make each dish better. He also tells you why he chooses certain ingredients. What I really like about this cookbook is that it isn't just a cookbook that tells you the recipe and how to prepare it, but also gives you some pointers from the chef himself. It's as if he's sitting right next to you, helping you throughout the process. The book also gives you a little background on the creation of Lemonade, which is a very interesting read. Honestly, I love Lemonade and am very excited to have the ability to make some of the dishes that they serve at the actual restaurant. Oh, and if you ever had their Lemonade drinks, you now can make those too because the recipes are in the book! Now that's one less thing I have to think about for my next meal, which is, what should I eat? I guess the only drawback to this cookbook was that I wanted more pictures. There are pictures, I just wanted more because we not only eat food with our mouths, but with our eyes. But, I find that issue with most cookbooks anyway. This is definitely a buy for all Lemonade fans and also for those who like fresh-ingredient, healthy, home cookin' recipes.

I love the food served at Lemonade. The flavor combinations are creative, irresistible and in some cases downright addictive. This book makes it possible to recreate my favorites at home. My absolute favorite dishes, although narrowing the list down is a hard call, are the "Cauliflower, Golden Raisins, Almonds and Curry" and the "Arugula, Fig, Blue Cheese, Sherry Vinaigrette" salads. I almost dream about them! Taking them to parties and pot lucks is a no-brainer.

I'm a little puzzled by some of the criticisms I've read regarding the recipes being different from what is used by the chefs at the restaurants. I have made several recipes and think they are identical to what I have eaten at the restaurants. Perhaps the difference is in the quality of the ingredients being used. Not having perfectly ripe fruits and vegetables or substituting a different vinegar from the one called for can make a significant difference in the outcome of a recipe.

Another criticism I've seen involves the amount of dressing. The recipes I've tried state how much dressing is needed for the recipe and the dressing recipes state how much in volume the recipe yields. In my experience, having the extra dressing is a boon not a burden. They are delicious to have on hand for the next few days for use on plain green salads, tossed with cooked vegetables or drizzled over grilled or roasted chicken. Since I could practically drink the Curry Vinaigrette, which takes a bit of prep time, there is simply no such thing for me as having leftover dressing!

I have the kindle version which makes it very easy to pull up the recipes right at the market. What could be easier?

I’ve been so accustomed to using online recipes and needed a change. Great healthy recipes with a fresh look on diet as well as taste.

A year ago I moved across the US from LA. Lemonade was one of my favorite eateries, and I’ve been sad not to be able to have the fresh dishes I used to love. I do love to cook, and on a whim decided to google the recipe for the honey mustard salmon I used to eat there (my favorite). I was shocked to find there is a whole Lemonade cookbook (why didn’t I think to search for that?!)! I was even more pleased to find there was a recipe for every single dish I used to see in Lemonade, plus some new ones I never saw. I was afraid it would only be a selection of some of their more popular veggies and dishes, but nope, everything is in there. My only criticism is I would’ve loved photos for every single dish, but it seems like there’s only a photo for about 75% of them. Still very very happy though!

I love the food at Lemonade and wanted to have more of it at home, especially the delish healthy veggie dishes. This cookbook is filled with recipes that work. You will need to buy a lot of different kinds of vinegar though and a few of the ingredients are not available in basic grocery stores. This is the first cookbook I turn to. I am a bit disappointed that it does not have the hatch chili chicken recipe, but I guess they can't reveal all of their secrets.

Great cookbook that reflects healthy fusion comfort foods. My German friends like reading this cookbook to get an idea of where I am from, California. I wish the recipes for the yogurt lemonades were in this book, but otherwise we love it.

I have loads of cook book - but this is one of my favourite. Certainly the Braises are top and nice to make - and winners when you have to cook for a bigger audience.
I never been to LA - but if I go this is one of the place I want to visit
