The Sato Corporation comes to Elderton.


The Sato Corporation built the new Crooked Creek Commons parking garage. They bought Blue Devil Castle for their new corporate retreat. They funded the Waverly Perchance Memorial Garden, a project organized by twelve-year-old Dotty Morgan. Now, Mr. Sato himself takes an interest in Dotty and her dream of owning and operating a legit Supernatural Sleuthing Agency. Mr. Sato’s interest comes with cash.

If Dotty lets Mr. Sato examine the Japanese sword and cup her dad recently acquired, then Mr. Sato will approve a generous small business grant. All Dotty’s dreams will come true. Simple, right?

Except a lot of people want to get their hands on the sword and cup, including zombie ninjas, a powerful demon called an oni, human/bird hybrids known as tengu, and her new friend, Sakura, whose life might depend on it.

Dotty finds herself in the middle of a war between paranormal factions, but she still has to contend with a jealous girlfriend, bullies, and a nightmare houseguest. Middle school is tough!

Dotty is a12 year old girl who is a supernatural detective. She solved one case and from she decided to start a project. Now her idea has come to pass. At the opening of the garden she meets the new people in town. Sato Corporation helped in opening the garden. She meets the owner and his daughter. There are others too. As she navigates through the new arrivals and her girlfriend's jealously, she finds herself involved in another case. There are ninja zombies and tengus in her town. They all seen fixated on two items are dad brought home as gifts. Will Dotty figure out the connection before major mayhem results?
A fantastic story of young teens learning what they want and who that are!!.

The Case of the Zombie Ninjas is book 2 in the Dotty Morgan series. Due to that the first chapter or two does have some small info drops to get you up to date OR remind you about details you might have forgotten from book 1.

Once the story starts and the mystery gets rolling for Dotty Morgan -- the ONLY supernatural sleuth in town and her friends it's a solid, engaging read. If you and the middle schoolers in your life are looking for a book with a diverse, inclusive cast of characters (and who wouldn't be?!) with mystery and a smidge of love, both romantic and the platonic love that is friendship. This might be the book for y'all!
